Adding Images: Multiabs

(1/20/2010) The thumbnailing process built into the wiki software is not working, and anyway would involve uploading the images one at a time. Which would, suffice to say, suck. However, my hosting service has gallery software which, while limited in functionality, automatically handles thumbnailing and allows me to upload whole folders at a time using FTP. So I've started with the multiab directory, which is a nice place to begin since it didn't really exist on the old site.

I'll do the images in batches over the next few weeks/months, as with the stories. Bear with me, and thanks for your patience.

Adding Stories: Be - Bi

(1/19/2010) The main problem is I'm reacquainting myself with the stories as I post them. Which is not a good idea. :)

Adding Stories: A - Be

(1/15/2010) I've begin the process of adding back stories to the new database. The plan is to add a batch of stories a week, with the whole set of stories back online within a couple months. I'll keep updating this page as I add new batches.

Tweaking Continues

(12/31/2009) I've worked my way through the basics of the template formatting, and have the structure, categories, and presentation the way I want them for now. So what's next to do? Oh yeah, porting over the content. Well, I managed to retrieve the database, and I can mass-format them for the new template, but I think we're still talking about posting them individually. Which? Will be a project.

Beginning New Version of the Site

(12/25/2009) After the failure of my (very) old Access-based database, I am in the process of setting up a new, wiki-based database/template for the stories on the site. I'm hoping to port over most or all of the stories over the next few months. It will take some tinkering to get it to where it's kind of like what I originally wanted, but at least using standardized templates will reduce the amount of admin time and downtime. Let me know what you think.
