Biweekly Update: 6 July 2016

Your fortnightly update is here, with some great new stories from authors old and new. Plus site news! (Advanced search! New navbar! Metabods story-inspired merch!) And whoever had “The Leave-Behind” in the pool for which of my old stories I'd impetuously decide to continue next, you won big! Don't worry, I'll be circling back around to other favorites soon, including "Mind and Body", "Crisis on Carraido", "Ten Ways...", "Boytaurs from Outer Space!", "Mutations", and a few surprises. Advanced search: If you didn't notice, I finally got around to overhauling the search page last week. You can now do a Google-style keyword search, any and all keywords separated by spaces and quotes to search for exact phrases. Not only that, you can also add tags to your search, and even exclude tags as well. I had to sort of make up the algorithms based on what made sense to me, and then I had to make them up again this afternoon when Dreamweaver threw away my javascript code, but I think it works pretty well. Try it out and let me know what you think.

New navbar: Those navigation bars were getting really ugly and cluttered as I added new features and pages, so I went ahead and dumped them in favor of a Bootstrap navbar menu system. I'm not 100% sold on how great it looks in small-window mobile format, but it works for now, and later I'll see about making it a little less chunky on the mobile side. Please let me know if you encounter any problems with it. Since it's built-in Bootstrap code it should work cross-browser and across desktop and mobile, but if it's not working for you, ping me with the details. All the important links are always available on the home page if you get stuck.

Other stuff: You might have noticed one of those new menus is "Other Stuff". That's where I'm putting anything that isn't actually stories. Just for fun, I've created a page of gay audiobook reviews, just because that's a thing in my life that I enjoy and wanted to write about. But what I really enjoyed setting up was a page of Metabods merch, with shirts and stuff inspired by BRK stories. So far there are two from “Mind and Body” and two from “Ten Ways to Get Big and Strong”, and there'll probably be more to come. I like the idea of a shirt that says GROW FOR ME, since you can totally wear it to the gym and get some interesting responses, but only you will know the whole story. (I bought one of these myself, and they're well-made and super-comfy.)
