A story about my best friend, who changed into something bigger—or did he?

I know, it sounds impossible. I wouldn’t believe it, if someone told me something as ridiculous as this story, but it is true and I’m not crazy.

I’ll just start at the beginning.

It started just a week ago. I went with my family on holiday to the coast. We rented a vacation home for a week and because one person couldn’t come along, I was allowed to bring a friend with me. Of course, I choose my best friend Luke. He and I are friends since we entered high school. Neither of us had known anyone else in our class, so we became friends pretty easily.

Now we are both eighteen and have sort of the same physique. I am a bit chubbier than him. He is like the definition of lean, but he is not athletic in any sense and also not very muscular. I am also not muscular, but I’m the taller one at 5’11” (180 cm). Luke’s a little behind me in height—he’s 5’7” (170 cm).

Though we’re not too different body-type-wise, our appearances are very different. I have dark brown hair, hazelnut-brown eyes and a smooth face. Luke’s hair is black and his eyes are a mixture of green and blue. His facial features are more pronounced than mine. When I first met him, I thought maybe he was Russian.

So we both went on summer vacation. After countless hours sitting in the car, we finally arrived at our vacation home. It turned out that all of the bedrooms only had one double bed each, so Luke and I ended up bunking together. Most of the time during the day had been wasted with driving, we just had dinner at a nice restaurant and then went back to the rental.

As we both lay on our sides of the bed, we stayed up talking trash and joking with each other, just things two normal seventeen-old boys would do. When we finally decided to go to sleep in the middle of the night, we both undressed—neither of us slept in anything but our underwear. No shirts, no shorts. I always wear loose boxers, because they’re more comfortable, but he wore some not-so-loose boxer briefs, and they left nothing to the imagination.

At first, I was a little bit surprised about how much he filled them out, but he didn’t care to hide it. He already knew that I was gay, but he didn’t care—at least, he acted like he didn’t. I didn’t know and still don’t know if he did it on purpose or if he just really didn’t care, but the information this sight gave me was that he was, while still flaccid, more hung than me. Not like that’s a difficult thing to achieve—I’m definitely a grower and not a shower. And so we went to sleep.

The next day, I was the last one to wake up. I slowly stood up and went for breakfast. Most of the people had already finished and so only me and Luke sat at the table. I didn’t look very much around me, but when Luke came in my sight, I thought I was having hallucinations. I don’t know exactly what it was, but when I looked at him, he seemed different… more handsome, or something like that. I couldn’t put my finger on it.

After breakfast we went finally to the beach. I wasn’t really in shape, but I didn’t care, because nobody around us was good in shape—or so I thought. Not five minutes after arriving, we already ran and jumped into the sea, clearly joyful about the cool and refreshing water. As we swam, I saw something weird—or, more precisely, something unexpected. I swam directly behind Luke, so I had a good view on his back and it looked…bigger. Not much, not definitely bigger. I thought I might just imagined things, because you really couldn’t see much difference. It looked just a little bit broader and a little bit more defined.

I had to verify it. I waited till we got out of the water, so I could see him from the front. As we strolled along the beach I observed him closely. From the sides I could only see his normal arms—or were they bigger?—I couldn’t tell. The front had also no real difference. His shoulders were a little broader, I think, but nothing noticeable. Maybe it was just my imagination. The last time I had seen him undressed in the light had been maybe a month ago, so it was possible he had started working out. Or I really had just imagined things.

The rest of the day was just a normal beach-day excepting that Luke looked sexier when he went out of the water and his wet muscles glistened… (sigh) Wait. He hadn’t had muscles. He’d never had muscles. That never changed. But it looked so…real. Did he really put on some muscles without telling me, his best friend? At the time, I didn’t know how things would turn out, but I already knew something was wrong.

His body was seeming to change ever so slightly over time. Another question occurred to my unexpectedly. Since when was I attracted to him? He was one of my few male friends, but I had never felt any sexual tension until now. I don’t mean that I was attracted to every single male being, but it was very rare for me to find someone who didn’t care about what I’m into, and whom I’m neither attracted to nor disgusted by.

So Luke was special. And as the week continued, I would find out how special he truly was.
